If you would have told me a few years ago that I would become the sort of person who does historical research for fun, I would have told you that you were crazy. Yet here I am—2+ years post-graduation—just as fixated on history as ever. (I guess I should scratch ‘fortune teller’ off my list of career options. Back then I thought I would be drowning in law school debt by this point).
During university, I took a break from Canadian history to ~expand my horizons~ and learn about other world histories. While I don’t regret it, sometimes I feel my knowledge about Canadian history isn’t up to snuff so I figured it was about time to fix that. I have questions and through this blog, I’m going to get answers.
Why am I writing this blog?
1. To expand upon my understanding of Canada’s history by asking and answering my own questions
2. To share things that I find interesting and/or funny that I come across along the way.
My goal is to post once a week—-for now. I would love to be able to post more but working two-part time jobs gets in the way of having ample amounts of time to properly research and write about my findings.
This blog is not meant to be the pinnacle of historical academic analysis. There are numerous other Canadian history blogs out there that provide far more in-depth information than I ever will. I’m just looking to satisfy myself.
I will strive not to suck.
